Why Occupational Therapy and the Arts?

Arts-based occupational therapy is a way of bringing more play and creativity into your everyday life in order to gain a more restorative life balance.

Recent research indicates that the increase of technology in our lives can cause isolation and loneliness, with predictable negative effects on our health.

A new wave of arts-based research tells a more hopeful story . . .

When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.

Isabel Fryszberg OT Reg (Ont.)

Arts-Based Well-Being grew from my work as an artist and occupational therapist. Over 20 years ago, I brought these two passions together through my work. I discovered both personally and in the communities that I worked with that art-making and the occupational therapy framework generated a profound sense of resilience and well-being that is highly needed in our challenging times.

I offer a toolbox with online courses, workshops and coaching to share the skills and tools needed so you can build resilience for yourself, your work practice or your community.
